Cover Letter Heading (Sender\u2019s Information)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the very top of your cover letter, in what\u2019s called the cover letter header, you\u2019ll place your contact details.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we showed you above, it\u2019s quite simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3faec\">Your First &amp; Last Name<br>Your Address Line 1<br>Your Address Line 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want, you can include your phone number or email address, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover letters follow a business letter or formal letter format, but, you don\u2019t have to necessarily stick to the styling of the example above. If you have a stylized heading with your name and contact details from your resume contact information section, feel free to use the same heading here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, for the remainder of the cover letter, stick as close to the business letter format as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Do your best to find someone\u2019s name so it is tailored by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwall.io\/blog\/research-a-company-when-applying-for-a-job\/\">researching the company<\/a> and its LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you still can\u2019t find someone\u2019s name, simply put \u201cHiring Manager\u201d or \u201cATTN: Hiring Manager\u201d above the company name and address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Salutation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The last part of the cover letter address section before reaching the body is the salutation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And here\u2019s how simple that is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3faec\">Dear Jessica:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Easy as that!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can tweak that a bit, if you prefer not to use \u201cdear,\u201d for example. You could also choose to use their last name (\u201cDear Ms. Schwartz\u201d) or their full name.
