Trust … a value close to our hearts here at Goodwall and something which we’ve seen erode before our eyes after years, even decades, of failings from the people we’re supposed to have the most confidence in – our Governments, representatives, and public institutions.
Tackling this lack of trust will take center stage next week as our founder and CEO Taha Bawa has the opportunity to meet with some of the world’s most influential leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
After a two-year hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Forum 2022 will once again convene in person — and with quite a lot to discuss. The ongoing pandemic, wars, the possibility of a food shortage going into 2023, and the likelihood that the current decades-high inflation will slow global growth all set the stage for a summit like no other.
In his capacity as a member of the Global Shapers Community, Taha won’t just be in attendance — he will take part in a live-streamed panel “Tackling Youth Mistrust.” The session will focus on how older generations and leaders today can make strides to reverse the eroding trust youth have, especially on issues such as climate change and inequality.
Taha will be joined by Olga Bezverkha, a Global Shaper from the Kyiv Hub, Miguel A Rozo, a Global Shaper from the Vancouver Hub, Taylor Hawkins from the Sydney Hub’s Advisory Council, and moderated by Professor Schwab, the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Geneva.
It will make for a very interesting discussion as we’ve seen the rise of youth protests around the world reflecting anger towards the generation in power for its stance on climate change, social justice, inequality and conflict. Taha will be representing all our Goodwallers in understanding what it will take to win back the trust of young people in order to safeguard their future and close the widening generational divide.
Join us on Monday May 23 at 15:45 Central European Summer Time as we look to influence global leaders by discussing actionable steps for mending the widening intergenerational gap in confidence. You can watch the livestream HERE.
